“Royal Purple "Swirl" Vase
Pure gold in the glass batch allows Royal Purple to achieve its rich depth of color. A cased glass, Royal Purple layers gold ruby with cobalt blue - infusing each piece with a luminous quality that can only be achieved when making glass by hand.
The "Swirl" pattern was designed and created by Fenton mould makers in the early 50s. In 1954 a group of Swirl items were produced in Milk Glass, as well as pastel overlay colors.
The 1998 vase features a reverse swirl optic to create a diamond design in the body of the vase.”
